Indian star Ajay Kumar is world's shortest leading actor

HE MAY be only 2ft 10in, but actor Ajay Kumar is making big waves in the world of cinema.

The Keralan - best known under his stage name Unda Pakru - has been listed in the Guinness World Records book as the shortest leading actor after his starring role as a dwarf prince in the fantasy film Adbutha Dweep.

"I think the people's concept of a hero is no longer of that of a strapping young man. I think they want a person who can act and carry off the part well - an actor. This could be the reason why viewers have accepted me," said Kumar.

The 32-year-old shot to fame in TV shows before breaking into the movies, and has become such a big star, his marriage to 5ft 2in Gayatri was televised on south-western Indian television in 2005.

And, while the couple have a child together, Kumar is still a big hit with the ladies, as can be seen in these pictures from the set of his latest movie, Puthiya Mukhaim (New Face).
